The Investiture Ceremony
Making The Scouting Promise
Once a child is ready to join scouting they will make their promise to scouts this is appropriate to their section and is renewed upon moving across sections
Squirrels / Beavers
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love our world
Cubs / Scouts / Leaders
I promise that I will do my best
to uphold our Scout values, to do my duty to The King,
to help other people
and to keep the Cub Scout Law
The Neckerchief
After making the promise your child will be presented with a group neckerchief! each scout group in a district has a different colour necker that identifies each group. At sharnford we wear the Blue and Red necker and when wearing this you are representing the group and telling everyone where you are from
The Core Badges
Next your child will be awarded 3 core badges
The Membership Badge - every scout in the world wears this to show your membership of the worldwide scout Association
The County/District Badge
This shows what county and district you are a part of
The Group Name tape
This tells everyone which scout group you are registered too
Your Certificate
At scouts we know how important achievements and memories are for our young people. we give certificates out when we can to show how proud we are
After your investiture you will receive a certificate to show you have made your promise and are now a member
Make sure to show everyone you can how fun and fabulous scouting is
Welcome
The leader conducting your investiture will shake your hand welcome you into the Worldwide scouting family and into the 1st Sharnford Scout Group
