Squirrels will move on to Beavers when they reach 6 years of age, During this transition they will go from becoming the oldest squirrel to the youngest beaver so its important they are comfortable and ready to make the move
On the months leading up to this transition a few things will happen to ensure a worry free transition
1) A Progression Meeting will take place 3 months prior to their 6th Birthday this will be a chance for both your child and yourself to ask questions, discuss individual needs and decide if its the right time to initiate this change
2) Following the progression meeting your child will be offered the chance to trial 2 weeks in their new section. If they decide they dont feel ready after this thats okay we can discuss an extension in squirrels
3) If your child is happy their promise renewal will take place and they will be awarded with a moving on award this can be worn on the uniform in their new section along with the chief scout Acorn award if completed
Beavers will move on to Cubs when they reach 8 years of age, During this transition they will go from becoming the oldest Beaver to the youngest Cub so its important they are comfortable and ready to make the move

Cubs will move on to Scouts when they reach 10.5 years of age, During this transition they will go from becoming the oldest Cub to the youngest Scout so its important they are comfortable and ready to make the move

1) A Progression Meeting will take place 3 months prior to 10.5 this will be a chance for both your child and yourself to ask questions, discuss individual needs and decide if its the right time to initiate this change
2) Following the progression meeting your child will be offered the chance to trial 2 weeks in their new section. If they decide they dont feel ready after this thats okay we can discuss an extension in Cubs
3) If your child is happy their promise renewal will take place and they will be awarded with a moving on award this can be worn on the uniform in their new section along with the chief scout Silver award if completed
